Good news for all teams and involved persons: The available time period for the CIRRUS-HL campaign has just been significantly extended. It was orignially planned that the campaign would need to end on 11th July, as the aircraft will leave for mandatory routine checks in Basel, Switzerland in summer.
But as these checks seem to be possible with an installed scientific instrumentation, this means that we won’t have to remove our devices before, which gives us two weeks more time for measurements! This relaxes the up to now tight schedule and we will be able to address interesting systems and to adapt to evolving weather situations much more flexibly. It also gives ground operations more opportunities to maintain and calibrate the instruments and to react on findings from the earlier flights.
